Over the years, I have spent 100s of hours researching about increasing my productivity and read 100s of books.
From everything I have learned, these 3 mindset shifts made a huge difference in my life.
3 mindsets are:
- “Your brain is there to make decisions and not store information.”
This mindset made me develop the habit of putting down everything on paper. Whenever I get an idea, I note it down. Whenever I remember a task or someone assigns a task, I note it down.
- “Choose to be productive and Not Busy.”
This helped me to focus more on those tasks which are important and not just any random task. Every day, I write down 1 to 3 most important tasks and aim to finish them by the end of the day.
- “ It’s not possible to complete all the tasks.”
This mindset made me realise that it is IMPOSSIBLE to complete all the tasks. No matter what I do, or how effective I am, it will not be possible to complete all the tasks. New tasks will always be added. So, remove the expectation to complete all the tasks on your list. Aim to be productive.
Which mindset helps you the most in your productivity? Please share them in comments below.
